del Contrabando

The Festival of Contraband is a beautiful international event between two small villages- Alcoutim and Sanlúcar de Guadiana. One of them is based in Spain and another one in Portugal, on the banks of river Guadiana. It's a festival celebrating street arts and performances and joining two cultures to celebrate culture together. It also marks a joint history of the two villages that were connected by the smugglers and the tradition of smuggling. In this poster I wanted to represent these ideas by illutrating the smuggling of the street arts in to the area. This poster tells a story of the artist coming by boats to the villages late at night and joining them with the help of the river and the art.
